Burns Memorial YouthTThere's always room for one more in our active youth group for sixth through twelfth graders. Our youth room is located upstairs in the Family Life Center, and we're getting ready to redecorate it. We meet there each Sunday night from 5:00 to 7:00 pm for Bible study and activities. Rob Fuqua, our youth director, and volunteer adults lead us as we learn more about being disciples of Jesus Christ in various, creative ways. In addition to our regular Sunday night program, we meet in the same room for Sunday School at 9:45 am each Sunday morning. Summer 2008 The summer of 2008 is beginning with Youth Week June 2-6. The week’s events will include bowling, a video scavenger hunt, swimming at a local pool, laser tag, and a picnic at the lake. A trip to Six Flags is planned for August. On June 14, from 8 am until noon, as a mission project, the youth will be helping with the church-wide cleanup of the old parsonage. The refurbished parsonage will be used for children’s ministry. Last year, we had six youth and our chaperones attend the Metro-Atlanta Project (M.A.P.) where we worked with several hundred other youth to put roofs on houses of people who could not otherwise afford it. This July we will have twelve youth attending. This event is a time for work, fellowship, fun, and spiritual growth. We welcome new youth to any of these events. Just phone the church office for more information (706-798-1454). Please come join us as we grow together in Christ. Our group is open to all youth from grades six through twelve. |
