EducationDo your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. - II Timothy 2:15 (NIV) The Education Program at Burn’s UMC is designed to help people grow mentally, intellectually, and spiritually through a variety of teaching venues. As believers in Jesus Christ, we understand that the basic ingredient in preparation and practice for living the Christian life is Bible Study. We offer a teaching program that is designed to teach everyone from the youngest infant to our seasoned seniors. The Holy Scriptures are the foundation of our age-graded Sunday School classes which are held at 9:45 each Sunday morning With the Bible as our basis, we also provide opportunities for the study of church and United Methodist history, doctrine and theology. Classes for practical Christian living, such as prayer and managing finances are also provided. In addition, there are opportunities for teacher and outreach training. We are currently making plans to begin the Learning for Life Center in September 2008. Life skills classes will be offered free of charge to the community and will be taught by our members. Classes will be held on Sunday afternoons. A schedule of on-going and current education classes is listed below. Sunday School: Every Sunday at 9:45 am
